Dean Royles

Dean Royles

Director, NHS Employers

Dean Royles is the Director for NHS Employers and has held many roles in the NHS, including Director of Workforce & Education at NHS North West and Director of HR and Communications at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Dean has also worked at Department of Health as Deputy Director of Workforce for the NHS, where he was responsible for developing a national HR strategy. He also held responsibility for the European Working Time Directive.

 Dean was the first HR Director at East Midlands Ambulance Service and started his HR career in industrial relations in a local authority. Dean holds an MSc in Human Resources and is a Visiting Fellow at Newcastle Business School. He is also chair of the board and a chartered fellow at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

 NHS Employers works with England’s NHS Trusts and ensures that the voice of employers is heard in the health reform agenda. The organisation also keeps employers up to date with the latest workforce thinking and expert opinion, providing practical advice and information and generates opportunities to network and share knowledge and best practice.
