Enhancing emotional resilience in the workplace

Tuesday, 15 March 2011
09:00 - 11:00
The Work Foundation, 21 Palmer Street, London SW1H 0AD

Partnership Workshop:

Enhancing emotional resilience in the workplace

  • Claire Stone, head of employee engagement and change, EDF Energy
  • Gordon Tinline, director, Robertson Cooper
  • Stephen Bevan, managing director, The Work Foundation

The Workshop:

We live in a high pressured, fast moving and continuously changing world.  We are expected to keep apace, adapt quickly and perform at continuously high levels.  But is this realistic?

Some people adapt to change well, others don’t.  Resilient individuals are often very logical in their interpretations of setbacks and are thus much better able to cope with the situation in hand.  Others need more psychological assistance to deal with their surroundings.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to hear the very latest research into this area and to understand more about a number of innovative and best practice examples of organisational development initiatives which aim to reduce stress and promote health.

Some of the questions that will be asked include:

  • What has been the impact of the recession?
  • Why have we moved on from discussing stress to discussing resilience?
  • What practical measures can all organisations take to mitigate the pressures felt by employees?

Why should people attend?

The aim of this event is to provide our partners with insights to inform their own organisation’s practice and an opportunity to learn the views of others through a lively and provocative debate.

This event is exclusively for partners with The Work Foundation
and there is no fee to attend.

To reserve your place on this event, please email and include your name, company, job title, email address and telephone number.
