Context

Outstanding leadership has long been recognised as a key differentiator in the cultural and creative industries. But the sector’s investment in cultural leadership development – both public and private – has lagged many other sectors.

Could this under-investment be because the assessment of benefits from leadership development has too often relied upon subjective analysis and social impact measures?

As the UK works through the deepest recession of our times, does the cultural and creative sector require more concrete or ‘objective’ assessment tools to complement social data?

This discussion session incorporates the launch of a Work Foundation evaluation report, commissioned by the Cultural Leadership Programme, on the Economics of Cultural Leadership.
