HR management is one of the fastest moving practice areas. 2011 saw a number of major changes to employment law and practice and the early indications are that 2012 will be even busier. This session began with a round up of the major changes from 2011 and delegates were provided with a practical summary of the steps they should take to ensure that these changes have become embedded into HR policy and practice. Following this, Dickinson Dees looked ahead to the changes in HR law and practice which will come into being this year.
Topics covered include:
• New duties in relation to pension entitlement (auto-enrolment).
• Changes in relation to employment tribunal practice and procedure, including an increase to the qualifying period employees must be engaged before bringing claims.
• Changes to flexible working and parental leave
• An update on the position in relation to entitlement to annual leave during periods of sickness absence.
