Blue Monday Wellbeing Webinar
Monday, 21 January 2013
12:00 - 13:00
In our on-going research into the work and non-work related factors impacting on bank employees at work, we have found that a large proportion of employees, at all levels of seniority, are struggling to manage competing priorities. These include growing work intensity, increasing responsibilities of child and eldercare, managing personal finances and dealing with significant life events.
On Blue Monday, thought to be the most depressing day of the year, we hosted a webinar to discuss our ground-breaking research and think positively and strategically about creating healthy and productive workforces.
The panel discussed the following topics:
• The future of the workforce: trends likely to impact wellbeing and engagement of staff (long-term conditions, ageing, offshoring leads to workforce cuts etc)
• Changes in society: women in work, child and eldercare responsibilities. What are the banks doing to support this?
• Changes in patterns of working: 24/7 demand for availability. Is there a business case for flexible working?
• Presenteeism and its impact on stress levels, resilience and productivity.
