Context:

This session looked at the extent to which it is lawful, or even appropriate, to monitor employee’s behaviour at work or whilst absent.  It also examined the boundaries between ensuring appropriate use of IT equipment and social media sites and harassing employees and the impact of the Data Protection Act on a business and the obligations of a HR professional.

The seminar
 provided an update on the Data Protection Act and how it impacts on HR practice and procedure and considered the extent to which employers can monitor employees via CCTV, and their use of telephones, email and the internet both at work and during any absences.
