Details of the seminar:
The Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (“TUPE”), and how it protects employees when the business or undertaking for which they work transfers to a new employer, was the focus of the session. During the event the followung questions were considered:
When does TUPE apply?
- Who transfers?
- Cost/liability considerations
- Information and consultation/ employee liability information
- Reorganisation - harmonisation and redundancy
- Special considerations in the public sector
The practical aspects of a TUPE transfer from: a transferee's perspective; a transferor's perspective and a service commissioner's perspective, were also considered whilst working through a detailed case study.
