Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham was appointed Minister for Trade and Investment at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform on 29 June 2007.
Prior to that he served as Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) from 2000 to 2006 and has advised many International organisations in addition to being a private adviser to HRH the Duke of York.
