City Leadership Network: Reactions to the Recession – what next?
Wednesday, 02 December 2009
12:00 - 14:00
The Work Foundation, 21 Palmer Street, London SW1H 0AD
The impact of the recession has been uneven, with different cities hit in different ways. Smaller cities and those with low skilled populations have experienced larger increases in unemployment, and the South has been impacted less severely. And the recovery will have its own uneven geography, with particularly cities and regions home to growth sectors while others continue to experience decline.
This event will provide an opportunity to take stock on the impact of the recession so far. Where are we now and when can we expect the economy and labour market to improve? How have cities dealt with the credit crunch and which strategies have proven most successful and why? How can cities ensure the effects of the crisis do not linger?
This event is exclusively for members of the City Leadership Network of The Work Foundation and there is no fee to attend.
