Constrained Work? Job enrichment & employee engagement in low wage, low skill jobs

This paper argues that enriching jobs will develop engagement and boost productivity – even in low skilled jobs – and this needs to be a priority for sustainable economic growth in the UK. Studies show that disengaged employees are almost 3 times more likely to call in sick to work, with absenteeism in the UK currently costing £13.4 billion a year to the UK economy.In particular, this report provides recommendations for employers who aim to improve the level of employee engagement in their organisation.
