Nasreen joined The Work Foundation as Head of Media in May 2009 from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation where she undertook the same role. Since July 2009 she has been acting as Head of External Affairs. Previous media operations she has run across the private, public and voluntary sector include Channel 4 Television, the Refugee Council, Sightsavers International, the British Film Institute and a London local authority. She began her professional career with five years at London’s South Bank arts centre where she ran publicity campaigns, developing new audiences for their non-traditional output.

Her voluntary work has included raising the profile of a UN affiliated non-governmental humanitarian charity and helping a London arts centre. She formerly sat on a board of directors for a national theatre company.
