“It was a gigantic financial and intellectual mistake. The western financial system was built on sand”.

The event in detail

Will Hutton, Executive Vice Chair of The Work Foundation has written and will be presenting a 2-part Dispatches programme for Channel 4 that will be aired on Monday 20th & 27th April 2009. The programmes will include interviews with key players in government, Wall Street and the City. Will Hutton gives the definitive insider's account of what went wrong and during the course of the programmes he explains the mistakes that led to the current crisis and examines what it will take to lift the UK out of the biggest recession in living memory.

To coincide with the Dispatches programmes, The Work Foundation is hosting a breakfast event on 29th April 2009, where Will Hutton will talk in more depth about the people he spoke to and the crisis we are now in. He will also give delegates an opportunity to ask any questions they have in relation to the programmes and about the recession.
