Gender Matters

The Work Foundation, 21 Palmer Street, London SW1H0AD

Wednesday  27th  June 2018, 10:00am-4:00pm

The Work Foundation in partnership with Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is hosting a one day conference on gender, diversity and inclusion.

The recent headlines relating to a high profile resignation attributable to the BBC Pay policy and the globally televised conversations at the Golden Globe Awards in the USA (the #MeToo movement) reinforce the level of media interest, scrutiny and perceived importance generally of these matters. There are too many organisations where gender, diversity and inclusion are simply well intentioned words on a website. At best, lip service and gestures. Timing and momentum are now more favourable than ever and we envisage this event will be a catalyst for changing perceptions and culture.

Our goal from this conference is to gain insight into businesses’ gender policy to practice gaps, inspiring and enabling them to take action in a way that will really start to make a difference in future to women’s experience of work.

Senior leaders from business, academia and policy will be attending, representing their organisations at CHRO/Group HRD/Global Specialist, CEO and MD level. The content, design and output of this conference will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to:

  • Influence and shape policy and working practice.
  • Contribute to working sessions and facilitated, quality conversations with respected leaders to get under the skin of current challenges and consider workable solutions.
  • Build ongoing relationships with businesses and other participants enabling measurable change for females in leadership, and more generally in work, in a way that achieves a positive impact.
  • Have ongoing access to cutting edge research insights and data from the Academy of Gender, Work and Leadership, hosted within LUMS.
