Two Cabinet ministers, the European Commissioner on trade, the leaders of several global companies, and some of the UK’s most exciting economic thinkers will grace the line-up at The Work Foundation’s forthcoming conference on the knowledge economy.
The event will take place on Thursday 6th March 2008 at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London, SE1 7TJ.
The conference aims to explore all aspects of the knowledge economy — its existence, how it is reshaping our economy and the work we do, the challenges it poses for companies, its impact on cities, and what its future dynamics look like.

The conference will hear Will Hutton, chief executive of The Work Foundation, and Larry Elliot, economics editor of The Guardian slug it out in a debate entitled ‘the knowledge economy — nothing but hot air’; a ‘dragons’ den’ style session from cities in which they pitch for research location business; how leading businesses are finding a competitive edge; and the growing evidence and research base in favour of the knowledge economy.
