Abstract

The Work Foundation led a study, working with the Centre for Cities and SURF, to investigate the economic links between towns and cities in the North of England, supported by the Northern Way and Communities and Local Government. The work tested the hypothesis that strengthening links between places would lead to higher levels of sustainable economic growth and developed a typology of ‘city relationships’.
