An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Policy Adviser, ideally with a background in understanding developments in the world of work, to join the Work Foundation in London. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated professional to join our Policy Team and help deliver our mission to progress Good Work.

The Work Foundation is part of Lancaster University and works closely with wider university colleagues to undertake high-quality analysis of the challenges in the labour market and what’s needed to advance employment opportunities for people, delivering benefits not only for individuals, but businesses, communities and the wider economy. The Work Foundation has championed good practice at work for almost 100 years. Building on a strong heritage and deep expertise, we develop actionable solutions and practical tools to change policy and business practices for the better. We use our extensive networks, to share ideas and learning with leading experts, thinkers and practitioners who have first-hand experience of what works.

You will be skilled in building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior politicians and business leaders to members of the public, and able to provide high quality, impartial, and solution-focused advice. We are recognised internationally, amongst senior business leaders, Ministers as well as wider global experts and thought leaders including the OECD and the ILO for securing impacts to drive better management practices, and support healthy and productive workplaces that enhance inclusive growth.

In this senior role, you will lead a significant business area and be responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of projects, supporting policy development and delivery as well as improvements in business practices. You will be commercial, experienced at business development and have highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as being an excellent communicator.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and would welcome applications from candidates seeking flexible working and are open to part time work, as well as job share. In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits.

We welcome applications from people in all diversity groups.
